Abstract: | *[Hypoponera punctatissima (Roger), widespread in the Northern Hemisphere, is reported for the first time in New Zealand, from Dunedin. A colony of the ants had become established in the boiler room & kitchen of a hotel, where they were preying on larvae & pupae of Forcipomyia antipodum (Hudson) (Diptera: Ceratopogonidae), which had built up in soil near a cracked kitchen sump.] |
