Abstract: | *[Invasion by A. gracilipes caused a rapid catostrophic shift in the rainforest ecosystem, affecting at least 3 trophic levels. Invading ants extripated the red land crab, indirectly released seedling recruitment, enhanced seedling species richness, and slowed litter breakdown. The ants formed new Homoptera association in the tree canopy, resulting in high Homoptera population and growth of sooty molds, leading to canopy dieback and tree death.] |
