*[Surveyed ants on Culebrita, reporting P. megacephala 'was nesting under every stone and log, from the shifting sand of the sea-beach to the walls of the light-house on the highest point of the island. The most careful search failed to reveal the presence of any other species … It is highly probable that Ph. megacephala … had exterminated all the other ants which must have previously inhabited Culebrita.']A. kempfi misidentified as A. testaceus according to Torres, J.A., Snelling, R.R., & Jones, T.H., 2000, Distribution, ecology and behavior of Anochetus kempfi (Hymenoptera: Formicidae) and description of the sexual forms, Sociobiology 36: 505-516.
